ELMIRA LITTLE THEATRE ANNOUNCES DIRECTORS FOR 2007-2008 SEASON

The Full MontyLast May, Elmira Little Theatre put out the call for directors for its 2007-2008 season.  "Quality productions draw quality directors," proclaimed Jerry Holleran, Play Selection Committee chairman for Elmira Little Theatre.  "We put together an exciting and entertaining season, and a dream team of talented directors responded."   The upcoming season features two veteran ELT directors and two people from the Southern Tier who will direct their first ELT production.

On Golden PondThe season kicks off in September with the high-spirited, and highly entertaining musical The Full Monty.  Overseeing this show is Meghan O'Toole Tuazon.  Meghan's face will be familiar to ELT audiences as she appeared in last season's The Spitfire Grill as Percy and Play It Again, Sam as Sharon Lake.  Tuazon received a BA in Theatre Arts and Performance from Notre Dame de Namur University in California.  Previously a professional fundraiser for a theater company in the San Francisco Bay Area, O'Toole Tuazon teaches Musical Theater and Acting classes for teenagers at Dancers' Alley in Horseheads.  She will be joined by AJ Stow as musical director and Amy Bush as choreographer.  Stow was the musical director for last Season's The Spitfire Grill and Bush is also a teacher at Dancers' Alley.  Auditions for The Full Monty will be held Thursday, July 19, 2007, at 7pm and Sunday, July 22, 2007, at 1pm & 5pm, at Dancer's Alley, 94B Old Ithaca Rd, Horseheads, NY.  Performances will be held at The Clemens Center's Mandeville Hall September 28, 29, & 30, and October 4, 5, & 6, 2007.

A Visit to the Golden Age of RadioELT's February production will be the timeless romantic drama, On Golden Pond.  Joel Wilbur, a veteran director, is undertaking his first Elmira Little Theatre show with this play.  Wilbur is a graduate of Nazareth College of Rochester with a BA in Theater Arts. Wilbur worked professionally at Bertolt Brecht's Berliner Ensemble in Berlin with directing credits that include You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, The Appointment, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, The Coal Diamond and Miscast.  A past president of Watkins Glen's Lake Country Players, Wilbur recently joined ELT's Board of Governors.

The Odd CoupleIn March, Elmira Little Theatre makes its 21st annual Visit to the Golden Age of Radio.  As with the previous 20 editions of the show, Gary Yoggy will direct this production which will feature classic episodes of "The Halls of Ivy," "Escape," "The Burns and Allen Show," and "The Green Hornet."  This year's special guest performer will be recording and TV star Paul Petersen, who appeared in such shows as "The Donna Reed Show," "F-Troop," and "Fantasy Island."

The season concludes in May with the play selected by ELT audiences for inclusion in this season, the female-lead version of Neil Simon's classic comedy, The Odd Couple.  Marty King, ELT resident master of farce will direct.  King starred in last season's Play It Again, Sam, and directed Run for Your Wife and See How They Run.  He has been active with ELT for over 30 years.
